    I disagree with the previous posters. I think the deal is in favor of your trading partner. To line up some players:

    Tim Lincecum and Johan Santana are on the same wavelength. They are the consensus 1-2 pitchers in fantasy bball. Both have high K’s, low ERA, low WHIP, and will get about the same wins. Both have risks, Lincecum has a short history of success and Johan has some early arm troubles. Lets call this part of the trade a wash.

    Next is Holliday for Markakis. Holliday will outpreform Markakis in almost every batting category, perhaps with the exception of steals. And at that, Holliday can run. Holliday is clearly the better player (that’s why he goes earlier in drafts).

    Lastly, you are left with Nathan and Lopez for Hunter, Young, and Sherrill. If you are looking for a fantasy difference maker, Nathan is the only one in this bunch. If you think about it - you can find a player comparable to torii hunter on your waiver wire. Michael Young is on the decline, and there is no real reason to have faith in him to put up better than average numbers. George Sherrill is a closer yes, but he is shaky at best. Is there a legitimate reason to send a top tier closer for one in Baltimore? With Chris Ray behind him, there is a better than slim-none chance that Sherrill doesn’t last a month. Nathan will almost undoubtably close, and close effectively, all season long.

    To me its a slam dunk for not accepting this trade. You are looking for fantasy difference makers in trades. In this one, you are giving up 3 to get 2 in return.
