It should be Lincecum. But fools will end up picking Webb as CY Young because he has a better team with more wins (overrated stat).

I'm a die hard Lincecum fan, so I say The FreaK. He has outsanding numbers and starting to earn wins. It shouldn't be Webb because he leaves the game in the 4th inning. Lincecum plays 7-8 innings.

National League Triple Crown Rankings

Tim Lincecum

Wins (2nd)
Strikeouts (1st)
ERA (1st)

Brandon Webb

Wins (1st)
Strikeouts (8th)
ERA (6th)

In my opinion there is no contest, the award must go to Lincecum.

<a href="http://www.pokerheadsup.net/">Heads Up Poker</a>

It has to be Tim Lincecum. In the pitching triple crown, he leads two out of the three categories (Ks and ERA) by a good margin. He is second in the league in wins and accounts for over a quarter of his team's wins. Webb is having a good year and may actually win this. Both pitchers have factors working against them. For Lincecum, the lack of national attention due to playing on a horrible team and missing the All-Star Game with the flu hurts, as does the emergence of Edinson Volquez, who some voters could assume is having a similar season to Lincecum's. Also, having won the award already, Webb is a household name, so he will get the benefit of the doubt on a lot of east coast ballots. Webb could be penalized for playing in a weak division and getting only four of his wins against winning teams. With Dan Haren also having a great season, he might take a few votes from Webb. I agree that this is a two horse race. Sabathia would have to continue winning every start and holding the opposition nearly scoreless while leading Milwaukee to the playoffs to even be considered. If he does that, then Webb and Lincecum would have to pray that purists would not vote for Sabathia (league switch) because the media attention he has received would seal the deal for him on the east coast. All that being said, the statistics indicate that Lincecum is the most deserving Cy Young candidate, but history indicates that Webb will be the recipient .

I agree with you on one count. It should be a duel between Webb and Lincecum. Where I disagree with you, however, is that I think Webb should win it (provided he keeps his season-long pace).

<a href="http://www.pokertipsfromthepros.net">Poker Tips From The Pros</a>

1. Tim Lincecum
2. Brandon Webb
3. C.C. Sabathia
4. Edison Volquez

It all really depends, if the Brewers make the playoffs C.C. might win it but if The D-Backs do (cuz who else is gonna win the NL West) Webb's chances increase. It's not really fair to Lincecum or Volquez cuz they're on bad teams. But Lincecum is 15 and 2 on a team below 500 so he probably has it and he's leading the league in K's so nevermind, Lincecum is probably a lock
